Don't give cards for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. As I was in the store thumbing through overpriced folded pieces of cardboard, I remembered some of the greatest Valentines I have ever received...books. Growing up I would sometimes receive a new book instead of a card for Valentines Day. Inside the cover would be a special message written by the person who gave it to me. I have received lots of different types of Valentines throughout my life. But the ones that I still have and treasure the most are those books that I received as a child.

This year, instead of spending money on an expensive card for that special someone, consider giving a book. Once you pick out a book, write a note in the cover. Then, every time they open the book, they will be reminded of your love.
