The Isis Flag: Historically Always A Symbol of Terror, Violence and War

Following Donald Trump’s statement about fighting Isis in his Inauguration Speech, I take a look at the history and symbolism of the Isis Flag. It dates back to the time of Mohammed and has always been an expansionist military symbol. In fact, Mohammed named it after a bird that ate the flesh of its prey whilst they were still alive. I also draw links to the pirate flag, the Jolly Roger, and we even get in some Catalan history as it was the Catalans that managed to purge the Mediterranean of Muslim pirates and pave the way for the Renaissance.
