All I can say is that Charlie is very lucky that he didn't find himself alone with me. Okay, so perhaps this is another book (I've read a few lately) where you want to shout at the lead female character, shake her by the shoulders and ask her just what exactly she thinks she's doing. Personally, I couldn't begin to fathom why Sal chose to stay in such a crazy relationship. Without getting into the psychology behind why abused woman stay in abusive relationships, a topic that I'm definitely not qualified to discuss, all I can say is that this book had my emotions churning within the first ten pages.
