getting personal
I took a risk today. A big one.
Today I stood alone, as "Jennifer Bebb" for the first time in years. I've always been part of a package deal – the Bebbs. Steve and I have worked together for years and years, and we are always thought of as a duo. And rightfully so – after all, we are married, parents and business partners. If that isn't a duo, I don't know what is.
But we do have separate interests and separate skill sets as well.
One thing I do, that doesn't really interest Steve, is write. He is the most wonderful source of encouragement, urging me to take the time I need each day, to write, and to hurry up and get my darn ideas published! He pushes me to think creatively, to write in a language that speaks to all, and to challenge all preconceptions when it comes to publishing and getting my ideas into the world. He is my constant source for feedback and helps me brainstorm each day.
So here it is, Jennifer Bebb [dot] com. This was always a "someday" project, and place I might one day pursue my own ideas and identity away from Bebb Studios. I didn't really think someday would ever come, but it did.
The new site is going to be the place for all things "jen" which means my personal blog will move over, and I will continue writing it here. The content won't change, although it will evolve. And the readers might be different, but my core will stay the same.
Most significantly, this officially launches my freelance writing career. Yep, that's right, I'm not only a photographer and educator, I'm also a freelance writer. With this site I'll have a place to advertise my writing services and, hopefully, work with some of you in the future (bios, info pages, copy writing, editing and more). It's a new chapter in my continuing journey as a creative.
Photography is still one of my loves, and Bebb Studios is still a priority for both of us. In an effort to have it all, though, I would regret not walking this path as well.
So thank you, both for your support when this was just a personal blog, and your support as we grow into something new. Without you, all of you, joining me on this journey it would not be near as much fun.
See you at the new site soon (and please like my new FB page too!)
