Jonah’s standing at the entrance with someone at his side. The golden-haired Adonis wearing faded jeans, a green graphic tee over a thermal shirt, and expensive sneakers takes one look at her and his lips lift into a smile. My gaze drifts from Jonah to the guy with him, six feet of muscular heaven. He has ‘just rolled out of bed’ dark hair. So sexy. His penetrating aquamarine eyes meet mine and something electric passes between us. This stranger excites me. My fingers and lips crave him. Is this attraction or my quirky nature kicking in? Whatever it is, I don’t want to fight it. The stranger has a thing for black, too—jeans, tee, leather jacket, boots. My interest meter inches up another notch. A part of me feels connected to him on a strange level. This sensation is intoxicating, but I warn myself. Stay calm. I don’t want to add him to my list of victims. Why did I wave? “Hi, I’m Kelsie. New in town?” “Yeah. My family just moved here.” Victor’s voice rumbles when he speaks. A foreign sensation of warmth floods my body. Oh man, staying away from him will be so difficult. “Let’s go, babe.” Jonah says and slides his arm around Lena’s waist. She blushes and leans into his side. A pang of jealousy hits me. I want Victor to touch me that way. “After you,” he says and sidesteps, allowing me to enter the building first. I sense him watching me walk by. Please don’t let me trip over my own two feet.
