Gail Simone has a history of posting hate herself, against Felicity, Olicity and has even likened Olicity fans themselves to Nazis. She wrote BC in comics back in the day, and is propped up by the comic purist as a feminist icon, yet the hate she directed

Well, I never called her a role model, Nonnie. I said I share her wish not to be tagged or involved in MG hate. 

GS has an agenda when it comes to Arrow and Felicity. That’s fine, so do I. Everyone who watches and writes for Arrow has an agenda. That’s how it works when you read or watch something. I’m perfectly happy with my agenda and the fact that everyone else has their own versions of agendas. I’ll stay in my lane, and they can stay in theirs. I’m not interested in converting anyone to my agenda or way of thinking. If asked, I’ll tell people what I think, but I’m not going to seek people out and enforce my opinion on them. 

Calling people Nazis is a lazy way of critiquing behaviour. There are definitely elements of this fandom and every other fandom and commentators on fandoms that has ever existed that are subpar in the way they treat others. Nothing can be done about that. People will be people. I’m just going to do me and try and be as kind and patient as I can, because I can’t control other people’s behaviours, only my own. :)
