I don't want to brag, but my 2017 reading is off to a good start. Three books finished as of January 15th: a novel, a memoir, and a book of poetry (with occasional essays). 1,100 pages read so far.
No, I'm not doing the Goodreads reading challenge, because I don't want to log all my books. Some of my reading is private. And NO I'm not talking about Penthouse Letters IV, geeeesus guys, get your minds out of the gutter, wtf. Besides, everyone knows the series didn't get good until IX.
So, sorry, I can't give you any information about the books I've polished off so far, but I will say that the autobiography was BOSS hint-hint.

Hey, great to hear you're able to get so much reading done! That's pretty awesome, man. :)I've finished four books so far, and will either today or tomorrow finish a 5th. Two short-story compilations, the second book in a horror/sci-fi vampire trilogy, and a romance a relative gifted me with. The next book will be a true crime novel.
My challenge is going great. I have started my 12th book. I should finish it tonight or Monday. I have had the advantage of being off each weekend and being able to read while at work. One question do you have a set goal on how many books you plan to read this year? I understand about not posting for the challenge. Even you need privacy in your life.
So far in 2017, I finished reading NOS4A2 which I started Christmas morning, followed by Robert Mccammon's The Five. Now I'm working on Blake Crouch's Dark Matter which has been on my To Read list since it came out. I've got The Fireman just chillen on my bookshelf. For as much as I want to read it, I like waiting for the right moment... which is something I do often with books that I purchase and am eager to read.
It's good to know about the output! Excited to the hear about the new books that will go straight to my To-Read shelf as soon as they are announced!Reading Acceptance (Part 3 of Jeff VanderMeer's Southern Reach Trilogy). Have also made partial progress on Grass by Sheri S. Tepper and A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman.
And that autobiography was really good! :)

On my third for the year so far.Just started Douglas Prestons Lost City of the Monkey God. Finished Adam Nevills Some Will Not Sleep and The Passenger by F.R.Tallis. My pile never seems to diminish.
I am currently saturated in Joe Hill. I'm reading Locke and Key and Fireman so I can start my 2017 off right y'all
Completed three books so far. Read "The Gunslinger" by Stephen King and the other two were audio books, "Say your one of them" by Uwem Akpan and "Death of a Bore" by M.C.Beaton. Currently re reading "A head full of ghosts" by Paul Tremblay and listening to "Concussion" by Jeanne Marie Laskas.Happy Reading!
I'm working on the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. I'm on book 6 right now - my third book of the year so far. Horror is my favorite genre but I read from most others as well and right now I'm on a British sci-fi/fantasy/humor kick.
I'm pretty satisfied. I read 1 novella and 1 short book and finished one started towards the end of December (pretty long). Plus, I'm finishing a couple more and started a new one.
Just finished listening to Locke & Key, and I just started listening to All the Light We Cannot See. Also, working my way through the Unshelved series, and reading The Monogram Murders on my Nook. so many books...
Read Nest by Terry Goodkind, Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman which I suppose doesn't really count as a book, and The Last Days of Jack Sparks by Jason Arnopp which was excellent. Halfway through Joyland which has been sitting on my shelf for a long time.
I got about halfway through Danielewski's House of Leaves and grew tired of sidetracking in all the footnotes and the double narrative. The concept of that novel was very fascinating. I'll probably give it a whirl again in the distant future. For the moment I'm reading Cormac McCarthy's Outer Dark
A new demanding job has greatly reduced my time for books. I guess maybe that's good, as I will only read things that really hook me. Less good is the fact that some really great books don't hook you right away. I've also failed miserable at trying to read more grown-up fiction, and always veer toward YA (so quick to read).
Next up to read: Scythe, by Neal Shusterman and Hellfighters by Alexander Gordon Smith.
My friend always tends to get me hooked on the 2nd or 3rd book in a series. Then I must go buy the first book(s). She's done this to me twice, and I just did the same thing to her! Yeah, I'm a completist. However, if the author tends to go in a direction I dislike, I don't feel it necessary to keep reading a series. (For example, I finally decided that the Laurell Hamilton series I was reading had turned into porn. I don't mind some sex, but it was ridiculous, and did not progress the story. So, I quit. I gave the books to someone else who encountered the same problem.)
17 books so far in 2017. The best have been Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix and Night Film by Marissa Pessl. Your book The Fireman is on my to be read list. :)
I've finished four books so far, and where the first two were okay, the last two were really good and I'm glad that I've finally got around to reading them.
