Exactly! Like WTF? Why would Moftiss do such a thing? What’s groundbreaking about a pining Sherlock and hetero John?  And the whole “it’s not 1895 anymore” thing. What the hell have they freed Sherlock and John from if not Victorian homophobia? I just feel like I have misread EVERYTHING about this show.

The primary sources for “ground-breaking”, as I recall, was Amanda rambling at SDCC and the BBC promo “be a part of history” or something like that. Everyone took it up as proof of JL but <shrug> doesn’t make it so. Maybe there are other plotty things, like Sherlock’s family history, that people feel is “ground-breaking”. Or maybe Amanda thinks its ground-breaking because of her ghost thing. No idea.
