What Is A24’s Secret Sci-Fi Movie?

Well, here we are. A movie trailer that gives you no information about the movie, including title or release date. Welcome to our Big Internet Puzzle of the Day!

A24, the studio behind Ex Machina, Amy, Room, The Witch, The Lobster, and Moonlight, just dropped this trailer for an upcoming science fiction film (we’re guessing?) and it is as bizarre as it is… unanswery? Is unanswery a word? I mean, it fits.

In the video, we get some images of otherworldly technology and groups of people seemingly in the middle of a lot of complicated emotions. And that’s it. That’s what we’re getting here. After heading down the internet rabbit hole, there are no announcements of pre-existing properties acquired by A24 that might fit with this, so your guess is as good as ours when it comes to where this is all headed.

But with A24’s track record of fantastic movies, including 20th Century Women and Moonlight that are in theaters now, we’re prepared to get excited for this. I mean, they gave us Ex Machina. They know their sci-fi.

Even A24 is playing more coy than you might imagine, posting a tweet that says “In our near future” which doubles as a possible setting for the film, but also for the distributor letting us know what they’ll be releasing soon. It’s maddening, I tell you!

So what do you guys think? Is this trailer something to get excited for? Do you have any clues as where this is going that we may have missed? Or are you at the point where a trailer that doesn’t tell you the name of the movie just feels like you’re wasting your time? Sound off in the comments to let us know!
