The skeleton of an extinct Dinornis Elephantopus, aka Pachyornis, photographed by photography pioneer Roger Fenton at the British Museum in the 1850s. This was a species of moa, a flightless bird that once inhabited New Zealand. As you might surmise from the image, it was really tall; the largest species grew to 12 feet in height.
