Μια πολύ καλή, και μια καλή κριτική για το "Αθηναϊκό Μπλουζ" από κριτικούς στην Αγγλία που το διάβασαν μια βδομάδα πριν κυκλοφορήσει.Όσον αφορά στη δεύτερη κριτική, ο συγγραφέας Russell James που την έγραψε έχει δίκιο σε αυτό που γράφει, ότι δηλαδή το βιβλίο έχει πολλές ανατροπές στην υπόθεση – έτσι ακριβώς ήθελα να το γράψω. Ο ίδιος δηλώνει ότι προτιμάει πιο απλές ιστορίες, αλλά λέει πολλά καλά λόγια για το βιβλίο και τον ευχαριστώ πολύ.
