Such a strange comedown, the days following a holiday. The excitement and buildup culminate to one volcano of emotion, of family or friends, or even being alone. This holiday in particular is a wonderful and odd blend of joy, melancholy, ache, passion, and care. It can mean something different to everyone, but I am certain that in the days to follow it, we all experience some sort of come down, some sort of purge or catharsis. Maybe it’s sadness you feel with its passing by, maybe it’s relief. Just know there is no wrong answer to how you feel, there is no wrong way through this.
