So there's this manuscript I'm on...CORMORANT FISHING IN AMERICA. It's this Brautigan-esque, experimental send-up of some semi-autobiographical and wholly surreal times, places, and things.
It's far from done, but the fine folks at
Sententia have seen fit to publish some excerpts of it in what's slated to be a 'pitch edition' of the magazine -- one that aims to pair works-in-progress with a editors and presses interested in putting the finished book out. It's slated as at least a novella -- though it does keep growing, so who knows where it'll be by the end. I am excited to announce it here, and hope anyone curious will gamble on a copy.
In other news: After some wrangling, I've managed to convince the folks
HERE to publish a short story of mine. I join an esteemed list of writers already published, with promises of future fireworks. The story will be live in a couple months, but I am excited about it, and though I would share it early.
Last but not least: I'm not proud of it. But, at the very least, having this will eliminate some kind of future doubt as to why I haven't made it as a writer. And I guess on that day I'll have only myself to blame...because I now have
THIS.
