The Busy Bee

This is a hectic time of year. Work has been crazy busy, I wrote four Christmas ghost stories in ten days for the Ghost Stories LIVE! Yuletide Edition event this past December 17th, and chose to read The Gray Lady (the first story I wrote) over The Little Gray Ghost (the fourth story) because it was more contemporary. I've also been doing the big first edit of Black Knight, White Rook, my NaNo novel. Plus Christmas shopping and wrapping gifts. My husband wonders why I'm always so exhausted. It's because I'm constantly doing something, not just sitting at the computer all day and laying on the couch all night before calling it a day!
I do have to give him a nod though- for a man who has never supported me in my writing, he did drive me to the Ghost Stories event- stayed for the readings/performance. And he actually socialized afterwards. It did NOT kill him! He enjoyed himself. He just does not understand writers, although he reads every night before bed. I don't know where he thinks those books come from. I suppose he's just having trouble wrapping his head around the fact that I've been writing throughout our 32 year marriage and he's never really paid much attention to it, other than to surreptitiously read junk files in the trash bin on the computer, the stuff I didn't want anyone reading because it was bad writing or experimental stuff. That he read...I have since learned to empty the trash bin.
Anyway-Christmas is fast approaching. I have baking to do, meatballs in sauce to prepare for the office Christmas party on Friday, cleaning to accomplish, and an annual Christmas story to write for family and friends- nothing like pressure, but I work best under stress and duress!!
I'll get it all done!
Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Happy Winter Solstice! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Kwanzah! Happy New Year! Happy Find a New Book and Enjoy It Day!
