The antis, despite having invented and subsequently ignored several tags that are supposedly meant for discussing Sherlock theories outside tjlc, don’t actually care about who is correct about the text of the show. They don’t care about interrogating the text and parsing the evidence. Have y'all seen any large scale analysis of the text that has nothing to do with johnlock? It hasn’t been done, partly because it really can’t, since the premise of the show is a romantic one, but also because they don’t hate us for our textual analysis. They don’t care if we’re good or bad at that and they don’t care about unpacking and examining the evidence.

They believe us to be wrong about the nature of the world. They think we just don’t know how the world works, and that’s why we see arguments like, Johnlock won’t happen because it would be censored in China. What they want is to see their cynicism or homophobia supported by reality. They want us to be wrong in our fervent hope and belief that not only do we deserve johnlock, but we will have it and soon. They want to have understood existence better than we do and to have their condescending, dismissive, cruel attitude towards us to be validated.

But they’re wrong. The world has changed and is changing, and we are participating in that change. We are making and have made a world where people like us are allowed to exist, to be happy, to be hopeful, to be passionate, to be CONFIDENT and loud and assertive and right out in the open. They want to take that away from us. But it’s too late now. It’s happened. We’re winning. We’ve won.
