Una revealed in an interview published today that some of the cast filmed briefly in Bristol for this series.

Benedict and I are very affectionate with each other too and he often comes to me for a hug - there are quite a lot of those! That’s when he’s not teasing me with the other boys, Martin [Freeman] and Rupert [Graves, who plays DI Greg Lestrade]; they treat me like one of the boys and they expect me to give as good as I get! We had to spend a night in Bristol for the new series and we all went out for dinner, which was such fun - but poor old Benedict couldn’t come because he had pages and pages to learn. His dedication is admirable.

There are lots of possibilities about where and when they could have filmed in Bristol as they obviously managed to sneak that one past us. However, I’ve got some word-of-mouth info I’ve been holding onto because I hand’t been able to confirm it at all, but it offers a potential location for this filming. This is still super unconfirmed–so take it with a grain of salt–but Una’s quote makes me think it’s at least a real possibility, which is why I’ve decided to post it now and let you make of it what you will. I’m gonna stick it under a cut though, just because it is less evidenced than the setlock things I usually like to post.

For once it’s interesting that both our links to Bristol, Leslie’s anon and Tom Guy’s coffin pic in the Pinewood Studios, reference a time periode, where they filmed for ep. 1.

For Mike Parker’s pic (do we know that he worked for Sherlock at this time?): I can’t find a match on Orchard Street. Orchard Street also seems to be too wide. Orchard Lane and Avenue (both crossing Orchard Street) seem to be more fitting.
