…..oh god.

I have a Theory.

What would be the scariest thing (not person) for Sherlock Holmes to lose?

What does he rely on to do what he does?

“I am observant in some ways, just as Holmes is quite blind in others.”

(Steven Moffat quote source: [x])

Take a look at Ben’s eyes at some points in the recent trailers.

Do they look a little… blank?

This is too dark for me. Just nope.

“We explicitly said it is the darkest season yet and still obviously full of laughs and fun, but is generally, tonally dark.

You can’t see it, in fact! We’ve run out of money and just turned all the lights off.” – Mark Gatiss [x]

Even temporary blindness as a symptom of illness would explain why he’s so fucked up and stumbling through the streets in TLD, and of all the light and torches we’ve seen associated with John, this is one we seem to neglect. But as a doctor, it’s probably the most relevant to his character and we’ve only seen him use it once.

He’s literally shining light in Sherlock’s eyes, you can’t tell me that’s not relevant.

Every time I see this on my dash it gets worse. I guess I’ll add another one. That one episode everyone hates yet is always the rosetta stone for our codes. It’s even in the title. The only title which isn’t a play on an ACD title.

Um, well:

Mark Gatiss Says ‘Sherlock’ Fans Have Missed “Blindingly Obvious” Clues

In the run-up to season four of Sherlock, we’ve already watched and rewatched the trailer, scoured photos of Benedict Cumberbatch (ahem), and read up on every fan theory, and yet co-creator Mark Gatiss has said we’ve still missed “blindingly obvious” clues on what the future holds for our favorite detective.

I AWAIT DEATH

Hi, just going to add some Lamp Theory into the equation here. So, you can see in the tiny teaser trailer with the water that the lamp above John is on:

So John can see. However, the lamp above Sherlock is off. There is no light:

So, maybe it’s that Sherlock’s world is a little dark. Maybe it’s entirely dark because of the blindness y’all laid out above so well. So lamp theory and blind!theory come to the same conclusion.

This is happening, you guys.

Does the LiR, with her cane, somehow come into play with this?
