This face is haunting me.

I don’t think that’s a John Watson expression we’ve seen before, in reality or mind palace. Anticipation. Hope.

John knows what’s coming.

I don’t see anticipation and hope at all. To me this expression is more like a last silent goodbye, as if John knows he’s going to die. I hope I’m wrong though. It almost looks like tear tracks on his face.
