Party Performance (2 of 2)

People constantly ask if my novel is autobiographical. My response is that anything we create is inevitably autobiographical in some sense. In this case, in developing Pablo (the protagonist), I did in fact draw upon my experiences as a singer when I was younger.

So, when my sister decided to throw me a book-launch party, I decided to surprise my guests by singing two songs in Spanish. This was the second, "Un Año de Amor" ("A Year of Love") by Luz Casal, from the Almodóvar movie Tacones Lejan...
