December Daily® 2016 | Day 07
Welcome to
December Daily® 2016 | Day 07.
Last year for
Day 10 I had my kids write out a list of the things they are "loving" right now. I decided to do something similar again this year and include our whole crew. I love the opportunity to bring other voices (yesterday it was a literal voice and today it's via handwriting) into this album to create a more complete picture of life at this point in time. More details below.
As a reminder, here's what Day 07 looked like as a foundation page:
Here's a look at what Day 07 turned out looking like:
I decided to just hold Day 07 inside the pocket page (included with my
Main Kit this year). On the outside of the pocket I stamped the date using a rolling date stamp and added an Avery Index Tab along the edge with a sentiment from the December Daily® Christmas Phrases stamp set and my Pendleton Crafter's Ink. I'll use the back of this pocket for something for my Day 08.
Here's a look at the front of the tags outside the pocket:
My tags are a combination on
large manila tags, a tag from a past Studio Calico kit (the gold stripe - from Story Board), pattern paper from the Main Kit (use one of the other tags to cut the actual shape), and two tags cut from the Main Kit box.
The gold glitter circles came from a 12x12 sheet in the
Lost River Scrapbook Kit. I used a 1.5 inch circle punch to punch them out and then added the white letter stickers from the Main Kit + another set of white letter stickers on top (Cascade Alpha). I used the thicker alpha for the tags for myself and Aaron. I ended up stapling the letters in place because I'm not confident that they will stay stuck to the glitter.
Ribbons came from my basket of ribbons + the ric rac from the Main Kit. I pulled most through the whole - the twine I tied in a knot - and all of them got a staple as a security measure.
Here's a look at the back:
My strategy with the tags included asking/inviting everyone to fill them out after dinner
(I made them in advance and then had them ready for them to write on the back). I told them that they needed finish the statement "All I want for Christmas is..." and that I didn't care how they actually answered it and it could be similar to what they have already written on their Christmas list or something else entirely. Really what I most wanted on these tags was their handwriting. The actual prompt was less important to me than creating an opportunity to capture everyone's handwriting at this point in time. They also needed to write their name and age when they were finished.
You'll notice that one is blank - that one is Aaron's. He wanted more time to write out his response than the window of time from when I asked and when I was ready to finish the day.
I seriously love how these turned out that that they have a home in this album.
