Performance Reading Event
Ghost Stories LIVE! was a performance reading event that first took place in Westfield in late October at our local indie book store, hosted by Pugsley the Ghost and Russell Atwood, a mystery writer who had lived in NYC for awhile but has returned to Westfield. I was invited to read a piece I'd written because I am a local author here with three volumes of Miss Peculiar's Haunting Tales self-published, and a familiarity with ghosts and hauntings since I'd lived in a haunted house for six years in West Springfield.
The Ghost Story Live! event had begun in NYC. Russell brought it here with him and found the perfect venue for new events. With local authors Arthur Pero and Justin Baillargeon on bard as readers also, the event was well attended, well-received and a lot of spooky fun on the 29th of October. The holiday edition is December 17th from 7-9PM at Blue Umbrella Books, 2 Main Street, Westfield, MA. Jessica Martin is again allowing us to utilize open space in her book store to hold this event. She is wonderfully accommodating and always welcomes authors to host their events in her store.
During Victorian times the telling of ghost stories at Christmas time was a popular way to spend long, cold winter evenings in creaky, drafty houses with candle light, gaslight or oil or kerosene lighting only. The flickering light added to the atmosphere as ghostly tales by Dickens, O. Henry, Poe and other authors of that era were read.
At the conclusion of the readings the mic is open to members of the audience who can share their own true experiences with the supernatural, and the event is open to discussion and speculation about ghosts.
It's a fun concept and everyone enjoyed it in October. We're hoping the holiday edition of Ghost Stories LIVE! will be equally entertaining!

Here I will write a little bit about my writing, how I write, how I create characters and environments...and maybe some little glimpses into my real life because writers and authors are real people after all. I'll also write about my books, my upcoming books and my projects that are in the works. I am a self publishing author, so I do everything by myself from write the book, to write all the copy inside the book, to designing a cover and basically promoting the book- it's a much bigger job than I thought it would be, but I love writing and sharing my work with others and after sending four or five years trying to go the traditional route, this was the avenue that I chose to get my writing out there.
