Question for this month - In terms of your writing career, where do you see yourself five years from now, and what’s your plan to get there?

Five years from now, I see myself sitting here doing exactly what I'm doing now. I have 2 pen names, this one and --- let's call the other one B. This pen name is a hobby author - I write when I want to and I publish if I feel like it. Proof - been sitting on a book 2 years at least -just can't seem to get the rewrite finished so I can publish.

Pen name B has book at publisher that is going to galleys - soon/now/yesterday. This book is good. If I can get into the hands of the right readers and reviewers - five years from now pen name B might be happy dancing.

Game plan - I asked at one of my writing groups - if you could tell a new author one thing you wished someone had told you when you were starting - what would that be? One author responded with - I wish someone had told me to write the whole series first.

I took that to heart and wrote my trilogy before sending it to the publisher. It is book 1 that's going to galleys. Since book 2 and 3 are done and awaiting their turn that gives me time to finish a book that's been on a back burner since the trilogy pushed its way forward. I can write that book and still have time to write more - so I could have a stream of books published in the next 5 years.
