A Columbia professor contends that 'white supremacist' is the new 'racist'.

In Time magazine, Columbia English professor John McWhorter, says that now that the term ‘racist’ has been used so sloppily by the left, they have to switch to 'white supremacist’. Racism, I guess, no longer has the same cache. I previously wrote about this, in 2015 even. Here. I was quite worried about the word being hollowed out and rendered meaningless, because, you know, there are still real live racists in the world, their hearts filled with hate, but I didn’t express that in the article. I expressed only sarcasm and irreverence because I am sarcastic and irreverent.

Racism is now a word everyone discounts: “Oh, she’s a racist? So you mean she doesn’t agree with you?”

The same fate seems to be in store for white supremacist, too, now. Groovy. You on the left are doing a bang up job of name-calling.

The problem I see here, is what I call 'holy warrior-ism’. Jihadism, essentially: “Our opponents don’t have dissenting opinions or differing beliefs. They’re fucking evil.”

Whatever. The Crusades were an utter failure, too.
