Space Hulk: Deathwing – Competition Time!
December 9th sees the PC release of Space Hulk: Deathwing, a first-person shooter experience of Games Workshop’s classic Space Hulk boardgame set in the universe of Warhammer 40,000.
I was approached by Streum On Studio in early 2015, to develop a story based on the mission structure and characters that had already been built into the game. The team at Games Workshop Licensing recommended me based on my history with the Dark Angels – I’ve written several novels bringing light to the most secretive Space Marine chapter, including Angels of Darkness, The Purging of Kadillus, and the Legacy of Caliban series (amongst others). It probably helped that the Dark Angels fans at Streum On were already aware of my work!
As many will know, I also have history with Games Workshop’s original Space Hulk boardgame, having written the background text and missions for the 2009 edition, and the companion book Space Hulk: The Novel.
