Yow! A Dane and Noel story from the Contenders Verse

I wrote "Yow" at the request of Jambrea Jo Jones to celebrate the debut issue of my newsletter, Jan's News.

This story is not work safe. Dane/Noel from The Contenders.

Enjoy!

"Annie's gonna make me Yow? She's gonna make me hurt just by drawing pictures of me? That's really somethin', Noel. Like a super human power. Is she a mutant like an X-Man?"

Noel cleared his throat, not sure if Dane was joking with him or he'd never heard of what Annie had proposed. When he'd first met Dane, the boxer he'd fallen for had lacked what his father would have referred to as 'polish.' Not that Noel had cared since Dane possessed a super human power of his own--the ability to make people love him.

"Not 'yow,' Dane. Yaoi. It's, ah, manga featuring men."

Dane blinked. "Oh yeah?"

"Men like us, Dane."

"What about us?" Dane blinked innocently.

Noel's voice got even louder as he automatically went into teacher mode. He could feel himself blushing. "Yaoi is about men who share the same bed."

"I guess I embarrassed you." Dane grinned and suddenly Noel knew he'd been had. His big boxer knew exactly what Yaoi was. He just wanted to make Noel say it loudly in the echoing gym. Now all the men and women training had stopped what they were doing, gloves raised, heavy bags swaying, and were staring at Noel. And grinning like Dane.

"Dane!" He tried to put indignation in his voice.

"I like to embarrass you sometimes," Dane said, a thread of tenderness and apology in his voice as he put one massive arm around Noel. He was wearing silk boxing shorts that stuck to his body like glue. He was slick with sweat and warm, very warm. "On account you're on the prissy side."

"You got me," Noel admitted, meaning more than the joke. He saw Dane's eyes soften and then glisten with wonder.

"You're my Christmas ornament," Dane said. "I can't believe you're real, you know?"

Noel remembered their first Christmas together. Dane had a few broken ornaments he'd fished out of the trash he'd used in the years before he'd met Noel so he had been unprepared for a visit to a store specializing in Christmas. They'd spent hours picking out ornaments and then bought three trees that could be recycled by planting them in the nearby park after the holidays. All the boxers in the gym had put down their macho gloves on Christmas Eve and helped Dane decorate.

"Well, Annie is an artist and writer of Yaoi material and she wants to do a serial featuring you and me," Noel said.

Dane sat down on the bench, looking at Annie, who was one of Noel's prized students. She gave him a serious look in return, adjusting her glasses. If she had one failing, Noel thought, it was that she rarely ever smiled and was impatient when other people took the time to tell a joke.

She reminded Noel of himself before he'd met Dane.

"You want to tell a story about me and Noel?" Dane asked her, looking confused. "But everybody in the neighborhood already knows about us."

Annie gave a tentative smile, blushing under Dane's intense look. "But, um, not everybody lives in your neighborhood, Dane."

Dane blinked. "Yeah. Too bad for them, right?" He laughed and Annie nodded. "So why do you want to write about us? I get why you'd want to draw Noel. I do that all the time. He's shy about letting me do it when he's got no clothes on, so I have to keep those under wraps." Dane cocked his head. "My favorite yaoi, they always show some skin, you know. When the Seme traps the guy he's picked out and does him." Dane half closed his eyes as if picturing it. "I like those the best, especially when there's flowers and clouds and other stuff floating around in the pictures. Not sure why exactly that stuff happens. I have a real good time with Noel, but we don't make clouds and flowers float around us."

Annie was grinning broadly now. Then she covered her mouth, as if afraid she'd laugh and offend Dane. "I think it's metaphorical."

"Yeah, I know that word. I've met it before," Dane said. "Will your yaoi have clouds and flowers?"

Annie shook her head. "It'll be more like a graphic novel. I plan to do the university where you met Noel as cold and shiny, like a futuristic world and then your world..."

"Grime," Dane said. "Yeah, some people see it that way." He looked around Charlie's gym. "Noel had the place painted. We got Egyptian cotton towels and terrazzo flooring now. Me and Noel picked out the floor in Italy."

"What I want to illustrate is that you came from two different worlds, worlds that should not have touched."

Dane looked at Noel. "I wanted his world to touch mine right away. I used to wear ripped up T-shirts to show off my body. Sometimes I'd catch him lookin' at me, so I knew it was working. It was too bad I couldn't just strip down for him. It took a lot of words before I could do that. I had to work real hard."

Annie swallowed. "Oh my."

"Do you need some bottled water?" Dane asked. "We used to serve tap water, but now Noel has some in the fridge."

"I am...warm."

Noel tried not to smile as he saw the way serious Annie's big brown eyes followed Dane as he snagged some bottles for all of them.

"I want to first show the different worlds you used to occupy." She pulled out a large folder and Noel waited for Dane's reaction. "Noel has been telling me stories about you, Dane, about how you met."

Dane stared at the one that always moved Noel to tears. It was Dane alone in the one room crappy apartment he had occupied when Noel first met him. He was curled up on his bed in the fetal position, one eye closed shut from a massive shiner. A bowl with a gold fish provided the only light in the room.

"Oh, that's Goldie," Dane said, voice softening. "I guess Noel showed you my painting of her. I did a lot of paintings of her until she died and then it hurt too much."

"Dane, she's not the only beautiful thing in the room," Noel said.

"Whaddya mean, Noel? I look like I lost whatever fight I was in. Yeah, Charlie probably told me I wasn't fightin' smart." Dane looked at Annie. "Charlie was my trainer. This here is his gym."

Annie nodded. "That's why it's called 'Charlie's Gym.'"

"Yeah," Dane said. "It don't look the way it did when he was alive. I don't know what he would have thought of the hot tubs. Charlie was what you call a traditionalist, you know? Steam room was as fancy as it got."

"Show Dane more of your drawings," Noel encouraged.

Annie handed Dane a drawing of himself using a mop in the library tower where he'd met Noel. He had a cigarette hanging from a corner of his mouth and he was dressed in a black wife beater with a silver chain around his neck. Huge muscled arms bulged as he worked, but his gaze was on a small man with glasses and fair hair, hunched over a table, watching him.

"Oh boy. I have to sit down," Dane said. He sat on the bench, staring at the picture. "Every week I'd try to work up the courage to ask Noel out, you know? I didn't even know if he liked guys but I thought if I was real nice, maybe he wouldn't think I was so bad. He was so shy, it made me hot. I kept picturing what it would be like to get those glasses off him and how his hair would look in his eyes, his face all sweaty..."

Noel felt heat rise through his body. He had to reach out, take Dane's big hand.

"And this is when you showed Noel what it was like to train in the gym," Annie said, handing Dane another drawing.

"It's Charlie!" Dane said. "Look at him, he looks real annoyed with me." He grinned, looking at Noel. "He knew I was showin' off on account I'd brought my boy with me." Dane stared at himself hitting a heavy bag while the slight figure of Noel watched, his body language tight in the alien environment.

"And this... Um. This one doesn't have clouds and flowers. But there is a puppy and your gold fish." Annie looked hesitant as she handed Dane an illustration done in gold leaf and water colors.

Dane took it very carefully, only touching the edges. In it, he and Noel were nude, snuggled on his small bed with a sleepy puppy lying nearby while Goldie swam in her bowl. Dane was on top of Noel, the sheets hiding their lower bodies.

Dane's chest rose and fell sharply. "Oh, man. I might have to go take a shower." He looked at Noel. "And you better come with me!"

"But Dane--" Annie got to her feet, one more illustration falling like a rose petal from her collection. Dane, battered and bloody, barely able to stand while Noel held him.

Noel gave Annie a little shrug, face on fire. She had to know what Dane wanted. As usual, the whole gym knew.

That didn't stop a smile from curling Noel's lips as Dane dragged him to the private shower.

The door banged shut behind them. Dane turned on the water.

"Dane, we're still dressed!" Noel scolded, breathless.

Dane yanked down his shorts and Noel's eyes widened at his enormous erection.

Dane knelt at Noel's feet and took off his shoes, kissing Noel's sensitive arches as he did. He stroked each foot reverently as Noel shuddered and made soft sounds. He loved his feet being caressed.

Soon the rest of Noel's clothing wound up in a soaking pile. "If you want a comic book about us, okay," Dane said. Then he studied Noel. "Is that what you expected the first time we met, that I'd be a seme for you?" he asked in a dark, throaty voice.

Noel swallowed. "I..."

Dane had him caged under the water. His face looked primitive, savage in his want. Noel felt a hot shiver run down his body as Dane stroked his back.

Dane was so huge, so strong that he looked intimidating. But Noel wasn't intimidated. He wanted Dane just like this, large and untamed.

Dane was kissing his neck, his cheeks, his lips. He felt taken, possessed.

"Dane!"

Dane opened the cabinet they kept by the shower, pulled out the lube. He took one of Noel's legs and lifted it around his hip and then delved inside Noel with knowing fingers.

Noel's head fell back, his lips parting. "Dane..." he whimpered.

Dane's hair was long and dark and wet around his hard face. His eyes were intent on Noel, reading him for pleasure. "I'll be your seme, Noel. I'll give you clouds and flowers."

He lifted Noel and Noel's legs wrapped around him. Dane's heavy cock stabbed deep inside him.

Noel cried out.

"I'm your bad boy," Dane whispered as he fucked Noel, hard and fast. Noel stretched his arms above his head and Dane put his mouth against Noel's armpit, mouthing the dull blond hair.

"Oh God!"

Dane covered his wrists, holding him captive. "I give it to you in the dark."

"Yes!" Noel tugged his hands free, wishing he could leave them where they were--he loved it when Dane held him down, but he needed to hold onto Dane's powerful shoulders.

Noel's back slid up and down against the tiled wall. Hammered by Dane, his cock trapped between them, rubbed deliciously by Dane's movements as he covered him so that Noel felt completely surrounded.

"Dane!" He clawed a red strip down Dane's back.

Come spurted from him. Limp and clinging to Dane. Dane filling him with a roar that the whole gym probably heard.

With his eyes half closed, Noel saw steam--clouds--and felt a flower inside him, like a rose in his chest, opening for Dane.

Dane pulled out carefully, dark eyes on his face, and then swung him in his arms so they stood under the water, letting it fall on them.

Noel cupped his cheek, his beauty, his beast.
