A New Character
So, I was at Blue Umbrella Books this afternoon, writing away on my NaNo novel, when what should appear- a brand new character late to the game! Ivy describes him, and then concludes that he is the first man she's ever met who can best be described as repulsively handsome! I'm not sure exactly what he is in Romney and Ivy's world, but on the way home Kelly and I were kicking around ideas. We're both huge fans of Jonathan L. Howard's Johannes Cabal novels. Johannes Cabal is a necromancer...so, maybe in a nod to Jonathan's character who has amused and entertained us through 5 novels and a number of short stories, and a wink to the author, I'll make Six a necromancer, at least in part, because he's ever so much more than that. (In an aside, Six wears a deadman's hat which is a nod to Kelly who actually owns one and has worn it in the past, prior to her obtaining a vintage bowler hat on ebay...yes, she has had a thing for hats since she received her blueberry print natural denim baseball cap prior to entering kindergarten-and wore that cap all through elementary school! The ragged remnant lies in my cedar chest- her first beloved hat!)

Here I will write a little bit about my writing, how I write, how I create characters and environments...and maybe some little glimpses into my real life because writers and authors are real people after all. I'll also write about my books, my upcoming books and my projects that are in the works. I am a self publishing author, so I do everything by myself from write the book, to write all the copy inside the book, to designing a cover and basically promoting the book- it's a much bigger job than I thought it would be, but I love writing and sharing my work with others and after sending four or five years trying to go the traditional route, this was the avenue that I chose to get my writing out there.
