And they said a hundred times I should've died

Today was a lost cause from a fiction-writing standpoint, as it has belonged thus far entirely to the day-job.* This isn't a bad thing, really; the day-job project is pretty cool, and a useful learning experience to boot. But it does mean no word metrics to offer up to the internet gods.

Ah, well.

Yesterday was immensely pleasant but also writing-free, having included not just farmers-marketing with the Cap Hill crew ... but also a lunch/brunch at B&O with a number of lovely folks in post-birthday fashion. And tomorrow, well. Tomorrow I will try to be a productive writer-person.

But for now, I will log off and await the next round of day-job communication (which is inevitably coming).

Thanks again to everyone who pinged, tweeted, messaged, and emailed with birthday wishes early and late over the last few days, and I'll try to have something more pithy and practical to post tomorrow.

* I knew this in advance. I got the assignment on Friday evening, and knew we'd spend today cleaning it up and making it all shiny; so I resigned myself to this being a zero-fiction-word day. Sometimes it's okay - just as long as I don't make a habit of it.
