Multiple Versions of a Story

Though I've yet to share it (it hasn't been published yet), I have written a story about a folk tale with multiple endings. As it was so shall it be, but it's my contention that all stories should have multiple endings and be wholly different. For modern novels to want only a single, holy, versions of self (per edition), is beyond silly, IMO. I'll be doing that soon enough.
But it was comforting to hear that the tale of a rabbit and a tortoise had a version where later on, the tortoise was chosen to warn the forest of a fire, but since he was really slow everyone died.
