Here's an odd thing...I was looking on the internet to see how the 30th anniversary performance of POTO in Paris last month went. Was thinking it might be fun to write a blog about it for my website. The show was being held at the Mogador Theatre on October 13th. When I first heard about this special performance, I wanted to attend so very badly! But I could not, due to family commitments here at home.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered that only a couple of weeks before the opening, the theatre had a fire! Later I read that the performance was postponed due to repairs to the building, but I have yet to learn if it ever took place.
Naturally, there is much speculation about whether or not it is another incidence of the famous Phantom Curse. Gaston Leroux started it all himself, when he incorporated the falling chandelier at the Opera Garnier into his book, 'Phantom of the Opera'. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Really glad in hindsight that I didn't book tickets!
Does anyone know what is happening with the Paris performance of Phantom now? If so, please add a comment here!
