Mark Mortensen A.L., you should be proud of both your great-grandfathers WWI Marine Corps service. Likely you are aware that of all the men who voluntarily tried to become a Marine in WWI only about 1/3 were deemed qualified and accepted.

Mark Mortensen Yes, although there was a WWI draft, one could not be drafted into the Marines and 2/3rds of the Marine volunteers were rejected.
