Oh, this is nice. :) @predictably-unpredictable tagged me in this. You just have to say five things that make you happy. In no particular order, then: 

1. My mom. My mom is the bestest. She is selfless and generous and patient and wise. She is passionate, a lifelong activist and an outspoken against injustice of any kind. The first time she was ever a bridesmaid was in her fifties at a gay wedding. She reads my fanfic and is undeniably hella cool. She works with difficult children and difficult old people, has genius-level IQ and read me millions of words of fiction before I was even 12, including all of The Lord of the Rings, published Star Trek fiction (including the works of the great @dduane), Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, and reams of other things. She took us on peace marches during the Cold War and made us collages of people from around the world so that we grew up seeing lip discs and henna tattoos and understanding that beauty comes in every colour and tradition. She’s not quite five feet tall and full of snap and fire and a heart of gold. We have so much fun when we’re together, sitting on the swing in her gazebo (she’s a manic gardener) or hashing out the problems of the planet in one of our many, many late-night calls. 

2. Our dog, Toby. He lives across the country from me and I love him so much it’s probably unhealthy. He’s an adorable black miniature dachshund (wiener dog, if you prefer!). He has two modes: sleepy/cuddly and hyper. I love him in every mood. <3333333

3. Sushi. Sushi is delicious. Sushi can always make me happy. 

4. Getting comments, bookmarks, and kudos on my fics, in that order. :) 

5. The other amazing people in my life, which includes so many of you.
