Agnes Conway It let me vote again, so you got my vote this time.

Nikolay Kanov Either people have way too much free time or they just vote for stuff they haven't even read. There's a book on the semi-finals list that is 700+ pages and was published just over 10 days ago...
I was going to skip voting, since I wanted to have read at least two books on the list and so far I've only finished the Wheel of Osheim. But since most people don't seem to care about fairness, I'm voting for you.
In any case, The Wheel is an awesome book, so why not.

I ..."

If you are talking about blood mirror 10 days is more than enough to finish it. I finished it in 2 days so I don't think people given away votes. I voted for the wheel too :) awesome book.

Mark Lawrence 11 hours left to vote :o

Agnes Conway Oh poo. I haven't read ONE of the ten books in the final, and have no desire to, either :-( A damp squib compared to the self-published blog off, there've been some great books on that.

Mark Lawrence Sadly it's what happens when Goodreads combine two categories and one heavily outsells the other.

Agnes Conway I wonder if lots of complaints about the mixture of (what looks like) YA and romance with fantasy would help for next year? It makes voting in the awards pointless if you know it will be won by a romance. Not sure I'll bother again.

Mark Lawrence I'm sure a *lot* of complaining would put it back how it was. It's like voting itself, if you assume it won't make a difference and don't do it then you don't get what you want. If you do make the effort ... you might.

Kristen Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, and Anne Bishop aren't romance, not even paranormal romance- they're strait up Urban Fantasy. Andrews admittedly toes the line from time to time, but I still wouldn't call the Kate Daniels series romance.

However, Darynda Jones and Karen Moning are way more para-romance than UF. Schwab and Harmon are listed as YA... so that's weird.

Then there's Harry Potter... which is going to win anyway, because everyone who hasn't read any of these are just going to vote for it as they roll through the categories because it's the most popular. I maintain my argument that this whole contest is moot and that you should have to have a book shelved as read before you can vote on it. :(
