Author Sondrae Bennett talks about unique shifters
Have you ever played the game where you guess what type ofanimal your friends would be? For whatever reason, whenever my friends playedthe game, I always got chosen as something unintimidating, like Kuala orChipmunk. Not exactly a scary predator found in the average shifter story.
Truth is, most of us probably wouldn't fall under the wolf, lion, hyena categories. Which is why, in the world of my Alpine Woods Shiftersseries, the characters shift into a wide variety of animals, not just thetypical predator. The series focuses around the Callahan family, a family ofwolves, but all of them mate outside the pack (at least so far). In ArcticWinds, the heroine is an arcticfox. But the really unique shifters in the world come out in the second book,Chasing Paradise, being released this Monday with Lyrical Press. Our story opens on an exclusive shifter only resort inCalifornia. We see everything from Cheetah shifters to horse shifters, and ourheroine's type of animal, otters. Yep, you read that right. My heroine is anotter shifter. She's short, curvy, quiet, and a great fisher. So what happenswhen an innocent otter shifter finds her match in a stubborn wolf who'sdetermined to avoid mating? You'll just have to read the book to find out.
Blurb:
He'll do whatever ittakes to earn back her trust.
A vacation is exactly what Ethan needs to escape the matehungry females in his pack. Determined to have fun, he can't think of a betterway to start than sampling all the different flavors the shifter only resorthas to offer, and not the food variety. But after he meets Gwen, no one elseholds any interest for him. Ethan came on vacation to avoid mating. There's noway he's going to give up his freedom without a fight.
Gwen is devastated when she hears her mate denyingeverything they are to each other. She can't sit by, watching him fool aroundwith other girls at the resort. Or worse, crawl back, unable to resist themating pull but not really wanting her. She needs to get away and her ownvacation sounds like the perfect plan. But she should have remembered what hermother always taught her, never run from a predator unless you want them tochase you. The hunt is on…

Author bio:
I love romance. I love reading romance, living romance (who doesn't), but I especially love writing romance. There's no greater feeling than watching my characters come alive in each other's arms. Most of all, I love giving my characters the happily ever afters they deserve, with a little necessary drama first.
One of my favorite things is picking up a new book and sinking into the story, immersing myself in the emotions between the characters. I hope someday to inspire readers the same way my favorite authors have inspired me.
When not writing, I can usually be found curled up on the couch with a good book, taking my dogs for walks, or spending time with my family. It always makes my day to hear from my readers.
