How interesting! I'm actually shifting to vegetarian (with eggs, dairy, and seafood.) And I will admit that I've felt better in some ways but I hadn't linked it to that. That's fascinating. Thank you for mentioning this. I've always felt like diet plays a huge part in mental and physical wellness. What your body and mind are using for fuel would logically impact how they run.
Am vegetarian WITHOUT seafood. Try "nothing with a face", which means you don't eat potatoes if they are so old they have "eyes" (roots). [old, old joke] Good luck!

My other problem is that I'm mildly allergic to soy as well as some nuts and I'm lactose intolerant so I need the protein. So, I fit in the occasional salmon when I can. I still take vitamin supplements but my allergies knock out a few really good sources for various nutrients.
I don't like to eat fish, so I am safe -- but you have to take the B vitamin pills AND I have taken fish oil -- but don't any more. Sorry to hear about your allergies. But I think there is a close tie between food allergies and OCD and a few other illnesses. If I were a doctor, think I would be looking in to those ties!!!

Good luck. (And I am glad you realize that there really is NO good addiction, it is all about balance.)
