The author is not under any contract with the people, nor should he be under pressure to write 24/7.

I agree, Yan! Especially as Brandon Sanderson is so prolific. He has so many titles going on, and so many good stories he's pushing out all the time. I feel like he's just trying to make sure it's right, and I wouldn't want him to force out a book he's unhappy with because people are complaining :(

Brandon is definitely one of my favourite authors ever and I can barely wait for the next book of the stormlight archive. However! I suspect (though I don't know) that what allows him to be so prolific and consistently excellent is the fact that he constantly is able to switch between different types of writing and thinking. So, if he thinks of blogging as a drain on his energies or a wast of time then he should definitely take a break. but if it is helpful as a break, then he should definitely continue! Plus his lectures and other writer support are fantastic, and appreciated (almost) as much as his books are.
JK I vastly prefer the books. But I really really appreciate that he works so much to connect to his fans and support other people thinking of entering the industry.
