Goblins!!!!!
So onto chapter 7, which is where our heroic party of goblins, led by Moaris Miffed - the most violent goblin in the Great Forest - head to deliver an ultimatum to the rampaging and astoundingly ugly giants.
One problem I find is flitting between action back in the village and the moving group, as events are moving along an important timeline at both locations. When I wrote Crooked one criticism was the amount of backwards and forwards between characters and I keep berating myself for every scene change. It's lovely however, when you have a main character who knows everything (the appropriately named Wise Wench) to have her keep track of both sets of events slightly before they happen - great fun to write.
The comedy aspect is still tricky; goblins are violent, sadistic and cowardly, so the interaction has to reflect that from time to time whilst keeping the 'clever' bits of the plot hanging. It's not easy but definitely an interesting learning curve.
