Happy Thanksgiving to all of my fellow Canadians! Today I’m sharing another snippet from BEYOND REACH, which released on Monday. It’s had a great ride so far on the All Romance Bestseller list. As I mentioned, I will not share the more sensual snippets for Weekend Writing Warriors, so I’ve skipped the beginning where Mekai and Nixie are getting to know each other.
Set-up: In last week’s snippet, Nixie found out the woman who raised her had been killed. Mekai has offered to take her away from the planet, but she needs a little convincing from the man who helped raise her, whether or not it’s what she wants to hear.
Garesh clasped her shoulders. “I am not your father, and with Cyresse gone, we are no longer family.”
Nixie stopped breathing, shocked by the man’s words. “What are you talking about? How can you say that?”
“Nixie, you walked out on a client. Therefore, you probably do not have a job to go back to. And with Cyresse gone, you no longer have a home.” He spun her around to face the door. “Leave; get off the planet while you have the opportunity.”

Born on Earth, Nixie was left on the planet Schedar when her parents returned home. Growing up on the pleasure planet, she follows in the footsteps of the woman who raised her, and learns the art of erotic massage. In an attempt to escape his arranged marriage, Prince Mekai flees to Schedar. For, he could never love his betrothed when he already loves another, a fantasy woman who invades his dreams every night. When the woman he seeks carnal pleasure from turns out to be the same one in his fantasies, he believes fate brought them together.
Fated lovers or forever enemies?
Just when Nixie and Mekai believe they have a chance at happiness with each other, they find out why their races are at war, and why they can never be together.
