First lines meme
Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories. See if there are any patterns. Then tag your favourite authors. I was tagged by the lovely @predictably-unpredictable.
20 seems like a lot, actually. Maybe I’ll do 10…
1. Sonatina in G Minor: That John came home at all is still nothing short of a miracle.
2. Letting Go: The first time it happens, John wonders if it’s only that it started so quickly and was overwhelming for Sherlock.
3. The Legacy of Martha J. Hudson: John stops at the bottom of the stairs to zip up his coat when he hears his name and turns around.
4. The Unfinished Letters:
At least the fire didn’t actually damage all that much in the end.
5. Flesh and Blood and Bone and Heart: The car door in front of him slams as Mary gets into the passenger seat, but John barely hears it.
6. The Battle for John H. Watson:
Did you miss me?
Did you miss me?
Did you miss me?
Did you miss me?
Mycroft silently clicks a button and switches off the screen and a grim quiet takes place of the mocking voice.
“Sherlock.”
It’s the second time he’s said it now, his voice lower than the first time and warmer, more seductive.
8. Observational Failure, or: Seeing is Believing:
He couldn’t even be entirely sure that it was happening.
9. Bricks in the Fortress:
Sherlock ends the call with an irritated jab at the screen of his phone and sighs deeply.
10. The Toy Soldier: John sighs. Sherlock is still lying on the sofa with his back to him.
No particular patterns, unless it’s that most of these start with the indication of some sort of problem. But as we say in the opera world, opera is never about the day that nothing happened. :P Tagging, and only if you feel like it: @ravenmorganleigh, @snogbox1, @penandinkstand, @mycapeisplaid, and @yaycoffee.
