Following up on some intel provided by Aubrey, Captain Dave Warner in the FFS Resolute stealth cruiser, investigates a major gravity anomaly in the Qwantum system. The discovery that the Imperialists have used a new weapon of mass destruction on their own people raises the stakes even further. But where there is great calamity there is also great opportunity. Dave opts to seize the initiative by trying to liberate the Qwantum system.
But the local Imperialist forces are not going to roll over, nor is the Imperialist First Consul, Emilius Quazor. Faced with growing unrest in the empire, political intrigues, plots and counter plots, he is determined to hold onto the reins of power no matter what it takes.
