Nesbo Named One of The Hollywood Reporter’s 25 Most Powerful Authors

Harry Hole, the best-known creation of Norway’s most popular novelist, is getting a high-profile film debut, with Michael Fassbender playing the detective in October 2017’s The Snowman. If the movie is a hit, it could launch a franchise (Nesbo, 56, has 11 Harry Hole novels in the series). Also in development is The Son, a stand-alone novel, with Jake Gyllenhaal attached. And earlier this year, the Nesbo-created TV seriesOccupied, imagining if the Russians invaded Norway, debuted in that country (where it was the most expensive series in history) and on Netflix to strong reviews.

Jo Nesbo is the bomb. I am anxiously awaiting another installment for his Harry Hole series.

Jo Nesbo is a great writer. His novel "The Son" is unforgettable and one the best books I have ever read. It will make a fantastic movie.
