wilwheaton:
Just about at the end of the second act, and now I know enough about these characters to go back and rewrite most of their dialog and interactions with each other so far. I know I’ll be cringing when I do, but it’s all part of the process. The only way to keep going is to keep going, and I want to keep going today, but it’s good to quit for the day when I’m excited and inspired, instead of after I’ve run out of gas.
I still don’t know if the whole thing holds together, if the two acts I’ve written are truly in the same story. But I love the things I’ve been writing, and I love these characters. Maybe this isn’t one three act thing, but two one act things … and now I’m overthinking it and getting in my own way. I’m very good at that.
Editing is where the “magic” happens anyway. Good luck!
