WITHIN – poem

prescott%011024Loud and invisible

Yet bigger than ever

Never quiet or at rest

Their whispers are screams

Their screams shattering

I’m sorry, what am I to do

There are too many to control

When I think one has been silenced, another appears from the shadows

I give them power, taking away from my own

If only tears could drown them
