Time To Rock The Vote
EveryHerohasHisorHersAdversary,Antagonist, andRival. And since mine, the notorious - "The Jeff,"is taking time to make; The News As We See It - "The Movie,"I feel it is time for some motivational reasons why you need to get out there thisNovemberandVote!Let's have a littleHistory Lessonfirst.OurFounding Fathersfeared, since there were so manyLoyalistsstill hanging around theNew Countryafter ourIndependencefromEnglandand that the averageFellowwalking down the street wasn'tPolitically Savvyenough to know who theCandidateswere.Instead of giving theCitizensthe right to vote for thePresidentdirectly,we as voters, vote forThe Electoral College.ThePeoplewho actually do vote for thePresident.
So what you say? They have to vote the way we want them to after we cast our vote on election day?Only 26 out of the 50 States, underState Law,have made it so whereThe Electoral College Votershave to vote the way the majority in theirStatehave voted.Minnesota is not one of them.In 2008,oneElectoral College VoterfromMinnesotawas too inebriated to remember who to vote for, that he wrote downJoe Biden's Name forPresident, plus,he spelt it wrong.(Source: Adam Ruins Everything - Voting.)The second part of our little tale is,theFounding Fathersdidn't give everyone the right to vote either.Only Land Owners!Eventually, after years ofPolitical Maneuvering, allWhite Maleswere given the right to vote. Then allBlack Maleswere given the right to vote, but that is when the infamousand another dark chapter in our history occurred.TheJim Crow Lawswere introduced.Once again making it almost impossible for mostBlack Mento vote. You have all heard about theWomen's Suffragette Movementwhich finally gave them the right to vote.It took from1905 Until 1910 for that to come about. That is134 Yearsafter theWar of Independence!Worst yet.It wasn't untilPresident Lyndon Baines Johnson,in the middle1960's,to put an end to most of thoseJim Crow Laws, that we now have almost allBlack Peoplevoting today.1960's!These changes, though they took all long time to come about, happened because of aCultural Changein ourSocietywhere we finally saw theInjustice Being Donein ourCountry. But it took theVotefrom thePeoplewho already had thatRightto make these changes happen! So,you say you want a better life for yourChildren?YourVotethis comingNovemberwill have a say in their future!
