Thank you for your comment, Portia! My next book Kaleidoscope came from a story a friend of mine who is an ER nurse told me! What a coincidence. You are wonderful to do the work you do.
Don't go getting all gushy about ER nurses. For the most part we are foul mouth, prima donna adrenaline junkies. ;-) But, seriously, I love your work. You create believable stories with characters I want to care about. I want to be just like you when I grown up.
wow...thank you Portia. My cousin Jim is a homicide detective in SF and his wife is an ER nurse. I respect and love them both. One never knows when it might happen that we wind up in the ER...so I am always kind to nurses!
I want to be like YOU when I grow up!
What a great story and what an awesome friend to tell it to you. I have a tiny, non-sexual story that always cracks me up when I think of it. I have a friend who always drives with one shoe on, one shoe off. So, she was driving home alone from Vegas to CA and she really had to pee. Well, I'm sure that you, living in CA, have driven to Vegas and you know that there is a lot of 'nothing' on the way to and from there. Anyway, she just couldn't wait, so she took a deserted off ramp, it might have even been Zzyzx, and she jumped out of the car, left it running, and squatted down and peed. Well, you guessed it. The door closed and locked her out! So there she was, one shoe on, one shoe off, the car running with her cell phone and everything locked inside, and a big wet puddle. She ended up standing there, I don't know how long, until a cop happened by and managed to get into her car. I don't know what he thought of the situation, but he had probably seen it all. :)
Portia when i grow up i want to be AJ too!!! Seriously I loved this book... It was a step in a new Direction for AJ and I love How our hero had to get his HEA.. I think that this novel is a statement to AJ's Talent and commitment as a writer. Keep up the good work darling i look forward to many more..
Silver,I hate to admit, that I avoided reading anything by AJ for a long time. I just couldn't believe that any one could write that much and still produce quality work. My first AJ read was Sundays in the Park... Now, I'm an AJ junkie and not even considering rehab.

I know the feeling my very first stand along of AJ's Was Phantom Lover and is till this day my all time Favorite...
I just finished DJ Manley's Blood Pond. Since I'll be sleeping with the lights on for the next few nights, I'll see if I have enough in my book budget to pick up Phantom.

Look forward to reading Naked in Hong Kong.
