KarenE Frost Thank you for this story! It was so good. The story was an excellent one. No sleep for 32 hours. When I get a J. D. Robb new book I truly enjoy it but each is totally stand alone with a new story what I like is no matter how heavy the storyline you could count on her friends to bring the heart and humour to it.

Ashley This one felt like Roberts' slapped it together. There wasn't really any interplay between characters, no growth that is so integral to Eve, and it lacked basic descriptive language and scenes that would've helped first time readers to the series. The DLE car scene, where Whitney wants one, is left sparsely described and I had to remind myself why he would want one since it wasn't really written. The elevator scene where she mentions Henry pushes the button, I had to re-read it several times to get the gist of what was being written and then why that was important. The plot itself was too open--we all knew the whole thing less than halfway through. Normally this means there's some interference (i.e. HSO) or personal scenes that have to be worked through. None of that happened, just boring details. Finding the sniper's nest in less than 24 hours with a hastily written program (in one evening) was anti-climactic as well. This may have been the first book she didn't refer to, in detail, the rape that happened to her with her father. The red light barely gets written before it's backed off in this one.

I hope she takes more time in the future to flesh out stories and make connections with this world she's created that is so fantastic.

KarenE Frost I'm sorry you didn't enjoy this book Ashley, I asked a friend to read it thinking I must have missed something and nope her enjoyed it as well in fact he wants to read more of them! This book worked with Eve's job and how those relationships are evolving. What happened to Eve as a child was not as relevant in this story line as previous works by Nora. It was based on solid police work and with the help of her husband (whom writes computer programs) he was already working on this program. If you have read all the In Death series you must have come across Jamie (if I have his name right) he was also a computer nerd that dreamed of going into police work. He wrote them just as fast. I really did enjoy the book and will be keeping it with the rest of my collection.
