The Egg by Andy Weir

Picture The Martian was one of my favourite books of last year so when I saw on Goodreads that Andy Weir had put out a short story and people were loving it, then I had to take a look.

The Egg is only a few pages long, so it's kind of hard to say much about it without super spoiling it, but it kicks off by the reader being told, 'You were on your way home when you died.'  What transpires is what happens afterward the reader's death.  It's way existential without being up its own bum and raises interesting questions about life, death, reincarnation and religion in an accessible way.

Really quick read by a talented author.  Definitely recommend it for your lunch break.
