Thoughts about the racial discrimination in Portland? Good news on the horizon? The Atlantic ran a really interesting/sad article about the city and state. I'm from Oregon but now live in TX. Have been thinking of moving back. Just wondering.

we live in a place that had sundown laws on the books until the thirties. 80% of the state’s black population lives *in portland* and portland is so white it’s see-through. we’re super-gay (second in the nation!) but super-white (tenth in the nation!) and i wish things were different. i wish i was raising my children in a place that looks like the world we live in. kel and i are starting to work with the urban league in hopes of contributing positively towards that outcome. for now the town a...
