Funny, I thought I was alone in this. Anecdotally, this is my experience as a user: I used IBooks for a long time, since I became fortunate enough to be able to afford the extravagance of an IPad. It is hard to find good stuff on there, just by browsing. I'm not sure /how/ they sort what makes it to the top, but I often found myself browsing Google Play and Goodreads to find books I was interested in before buying them on the IBook store.
I found your books on Goodreads, as a recommendation after reading a combination of Lindsay Buroker, and Brent Weeks (I think). I likely never would have found them organically on the IBooks store, which is a shame. I've since stopped using IBooks because it is so difficult to find good books to read outside of whatever big name Apple is pushing to the top of the pile for fantasy.
I switched to Kindle for my EBooks, and there is a much better selection and good, lesser known authors are much easier to find! I'm not being barraged by every novel Sanderson ever wrote, for example. It's easier for users to drill down into their specific type of fantasy/scifi/etc. Also, I plan to get (eventually) entire Ghost Series in Paperback, but I wouldn't have known that was possible until browsing Amazon. Apple certainly doesn't say "buy in paperback" on their store. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but it's a thing.
I think Apple is more interested in selling iPhones and iPads, and iBooks is sort of a an add-on bonus to get people to buy hardware. If Apple ever ports the iBooks app to PC (like iTunes), that will be a sign they're getting serious about ebooks.
