Lights Out in Wonderland by DBC Pierre

Lights Out in Wonderland by DBC Pierre:

I find only two types [of police] worthy of trust: one is the passionate naif, and the other, especially given that the largest crime organization of any state is by definition its police force, us the agent who is corrupt. Because he will live in a crucible of enthusiasms: of risk, secrecy, and turmoil, requiring bold improvisation, and contact with reckless fortune-and this at least gives us some common understanding as creatures.
