I understand why you may think this...

*SPOILER ALERT*
IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE FROZEN BEGINNING THEN DO NOT READ

I understand that people that have read my book, The Frozen Beginning, may think that Glacier has a 'damsel in destress' personality. But I plan to stress in the next book, which I had hoped readers might have picked from the beginning of this book, is that Glacier was a very sheltered girl, through her entire upbringing.

Her father home schooled her, because she was severely bullied - to the point where elementals her age tired drowning her at one point. She believed she was latent, so she had no training or experience in defence.

I didn't want her to suddenly know how to use her power, or how to fight against trained elementals, when she has never been able to before. I tried to make it as realistic as I could.

Through experience, people become tougher over time. Glacier needs to build as a character before she can kick any ass herself.
